Here I go, the Devils Advocate.
I don’t think Slyde//Sky is looking to hack the game just something give advancement to his already limited Nav Map. In that case, it’s simply for him to use Freelancers Companion. All this does is give him a better view and more information about the systems, bases, weapons, ships, and commodities, however, is does not list wreck locations and that would then be considered a cheat if it did.
Shoot me if I’m wrong but……if it’s only for SP then I reckon the others would be fair to use but otherwise, no.
Edit: name.

Well it shows the servers and everything but it wont let me connect to any of them, I’ve reinstalled Freelancer, and the mod, and I made sure not to use any other workaround and it still wont work.
-
Have you done all the steps shown on the page? Look at your firewall, router, etc. If under Vista, run everything as administrator.
-
Yea, and nothing works.
-
Vista?
If so then try to run FL with Service Pack 2.
-
-
antivirus?
Firewall?
Did you forward the ports in your router?
-
Isn’t that usually caused when a person have TCPv6 enabled still?
-
I closed Kaspersky and it still wont work, how do i forward my ports?
-
Don’t you still have to uninstall Kaspersky?
-
Possibly, yes. Antiviruses have a bad habit of still running and messing with stuff despite being offline.
As for forwarding your ports, do you have a router? If so, you need to connect to it (usually by typing http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.101.1 in your browser) and look for a port forward option in there. You’ll need a password and username which either you’ve already changed or are set to the default - look in your router’s manual for that.
-
Okay, no more router, or anti-virus software, and it still refuses to work. I might cry, or break something, which ever comes first.
-
So you UNINSTALLED kaspersky? There might be some pieces left in your computer, you might want to check some folders used for the kaspersky programm.
Do you have installed Service Pack 2?
Run Freelancer both as admin and in compatibility mode XP.
-
Did you try disabling TCPv6 as I mentioned earlier in this thread?
-
sp2 should be the first thing to try, then, if this doesn’t help try uninstalling antivirus, then other ways.
-
Okay, It’s working now, I’m online now
-
What did you do to solve it? For those of us that are curious…
-
Everything, including what you mentioned, but the last thing i did before it worked was searched my computer for any last remnants of KasperSky and delete them, after I did that it worked. Now the problem is getting money to get my transport ship and enough money to start transporting and trading.
-
At which server you did decided to play at? Maybe you find a generous person here at The Starport ^^
