Idea: Freelancer Base for Mods

Does the trial have any built-in limitations?
Or does it simply not have all of the content of the commercial release?

The trial is singleplayer only, and only the first mission (I think) can be played.
Of course the subject gets a little touchy when you include multiplayer and some other full-retail engine code (mainly the big dlls like common.dll, Freelancer.exe etc…) but since many mods already do that, I dont really think thats too much of a problem.
I do think though that distributing full-game content should be avoided because thats the actual asset of Freelancer (the storyline and the vast universe, ships etc…).

This is odd. I was also thinking about the Demo earlier this morning and how I could make it MP and with only the NY system save for Alaska and in Colorado with it’s trade lanes set up for a good race run but for mostly for PvP challenges/competitions and nothing much of anything else. Of 'course nothing is free and you would have to do a little trading to buy ships of choice and since there’s Shipyards in NY there ya go , a place to buy many different type ships. Make use of Planet Maine as well or any other item that those systems have to offer. Get rid of the rest of the stations and bases that aren’t needed.
Hmmm? Maybe this is a good thing that more than one has be delving on this idea?
Is there a way to do this and make it happen?

Wouldn’t it be much better to talk to Lancer Solurus and if he agrees to use his new engine, since he can make it do anything you guys want?

There isn’t a legally one for Germany as far as I know.

And again i trying to be telepathist: open “mp” client = fast way to donate servers and keep them alive.

Newbie->Little Patched Freelancer Trial->DemoOneSystemServ->buyFromTspAmazonPartner->playFullModsMP->DonateServersThis should be like that intersect with the idea of tsp mod demo server.
Now main idea how to use Freelancer Trial as i said - try Multiplayer Mods before you buy Freelancer.

Gotcha, andoxa. I thought it may not be possible and if you don’t want to fool with it, then there’s no sense in this n00b trying.
I can always just get rid of what I don’t want in the full game.
