Crash on load

Ok here’s the situation, I was going to test some changes to my new mod version, so for the sake of not having any problems i completely uninstalled all of freelancer, removed save games, and every other file I could find relating to freelancer. I then reinstalled the game and started a vanilla sp game just to make sure it worked. The game loaded fine but as soon as I clicked “New Game” it CTD’d not once but several times. Please note I have not changed any files so this cannot be caused by my mod. I’m running win 7 and never had this problem before. Any ideas?

Just out of curiousity I activated the current version my mod (not the beta) and SP starts just fine
