Freelancer Open Server going open source!
-
So I guess many of you heard of FOS project.
For those who didn’t: It’s an open-source FLServer implementation written on C# by: FriendlyFire, Cannon, w0dk4, Crazy, Schmackbolzen and utrack.
The current state of the code is best described as spaghetti code, lots of it needs to be rewritten, but the server works smooth.
Clone, send pull requests and propose enhancements: https://bitbucket.org/utrack/fos
If anyone wants to join the team - contact us, you should know someone of us already.

Hehe, I only commited dropping cargo in space which included a reversed network packet, but thanks for mentioning me
If I’ve had the time there would have been more, but as always it’s very limited.
I also still wish you guys wouldn’t have used c#, but a native language like c++ or freepascal

I haven’t had a chance to test this yet, but it sounds promising. I’ve been waiting for something like this for years. Thank you, everyone who has worked on this.

Tried precompiled debug version - server is grayed at the server list

Don’t know what to do, but … forked.
Github is a better choice maybe.

Obviously.
But if i will set version setting to the proper one as at freelancer.exe or flserver.exe - it is grayed whatever :// -
You need to set the exact version FLServer says in its title bar, IIRC. You also need a server ID, I think, but it’s been a while.
-
From accounts.cfg - which fragment? It contains nnn-nnn-nnn-nnn-nnn-nnn but GUID must be only nnn-nnn-nnn-nnn
-
The server ID doesn’t matter if it’s a local server
Get the freelancer.exe full version.
Current Disco’s EXE is 48.74.0.1 but i’m not sure. -
So it works
Thx for the tips
