Offset request - remove screen shake under fire
-
Anyone feel like hunting down a way to remove the screen shake that occurs when under fire? Bonus points and a cookie for finding the two values that control how much screen shake occurs when your shield is hit versus when your hull is hit.
-
FL.exe
0x11DB5C 0.02f (hull hit)
0x11DB89 0.005f (shield hit)
-
WHAT. Kick ass w0dk4, thanks!
-
OH. GOD.

To remove it altogether: 0x11DB44, 0x74->0xEB.
-
Nice work to you both.
-
hm, does the shaking feel so bad? to me its always fun, kinda old school scifi when every weekish hit makes your bridge tumble around
-
When you’re trying to aim at a ship 15k away with a non-tracking, slow weapon, screen shaking makes you want to scream.
This is awesome
-
AND???
FF - Your ship is breaking up, pal, why do you want to cheat?
Where’s my goddam ROFL button?!
How was your holiday? Any pics?
-
This is for a mod I’m making The scale’s too large for screen shaking to be a good element. I didn’t think removing it would be that simple!
As for my holiday, ya, a little too many pics… It was nice though

It’s hard to express my feelings when i tested this fix this morning

runs into the darkest edge silently and remains a peace of paper with “kk, i’ll discuss it with the co-developer whether the offset shall be input”
and yeah, rofl button would be really a great thingy here. -

No it won’t do at all!
- we want a ROFL smiley.
Please.

The screen shaking is the most stupid and annoying thing in FL, not very noticeable in fighters but in capitals ships it is a pain. Thank god we have such an exe hack to remove it.
-
Will that also remove the wiggling your capship does whenever you select an object and hit the goto (F2) command?
-
it won’t.
-
Bummer…
I don’t mind the shake you get when hit under fire, it’s more realistic I think. That nausea inducing wiggle when cruising using F2 though, that I can do without. -
this is a question of the maneuvrability values. an optimal solution is not yet found. i’d try to fly capships manually. a player who has money enough to purchase one has also enough experience to get used to its avionics.
-
yeah, we get players who like to fly the big transports by choosing a waypoint and hitting F2 and then busy themselves with other things. I prefer to fly.
ruhroh, thread is being threatened with derailment
sorry…
