Widescreen problems
-
First, excellent site. Thanks to all the hard work mods/devs put in.
I’m having trouble getting widescreen support to work. Windows Vista 32bit, laptop with crappy integrated graphics (Intel GMA 965/X3100). I’ve installed FL and the JFLP exe patch from adoxa’s website. I’m confirmed that jflp is loeding; the cutscenes don’t play on startup, and it’s in the ini files like it should be. I still only have a choice of 1024x768x32 and 1024x768x16. (My desktop runs at 1280x800)
I downloaded the updated video card list as well, with no results.
Anything I can do?

Check jflp.dll in dacom.ini at [Libraries] section an it will work
Your dacom.ini must be looking like:
…blahblah…
[Libraries]
…blahblah…
jflp.dll[System]
…blahblah… -

It worked for widescreen, but now the picture is to big for the monitor.
Also, the words are way to big for the game.
I know there is a post somewhere to adjust it but it’s late now, so I’ll try tomorrow.
If you would be kind enough to post it here, that would be nice, but if not. I’ll do a search tomorrow. -
Just restart a game and its all fixed. For HUD reposition use HUD Shift plugin from adoxa’s plugins treasure.

If the fonts are still too big, could you might make a screenshot?

Trying to make uploads.
Don’t call me dumb because I already know it. (Even if I am 65)
What I did:
Put jflp.dll in .exe! Didn’t work. Put it in dacom.ini! Worked a bit.
Looked for more info–- (Thanks to … umm, I forget)
Found warlordfmike’s post:
Added ; to all the fovx lines in cameras.ini and now got it okay. (I think)
Question … Jason writes in the hudshift readme.txt :
" Copy hudshift.ini to DATA\INTERFACE and edit as required (remove the semicolon from the [;HUDShift] section that does what you require, or add your own [HUDShift] section)"
I can copy, but do I need to? Look at my pics.
If I do, what does it do?
Edit: I have hudshift.ini and hudshift.rc and hudshift.cpp and common.h and common.def. What are they for. I haven’t used them yet. -
In order for JFLP to automatically determine the proper value, fovx in cameras.ini needs to be 0. Maybe_OK looks to have done that (the installer does it), Not_Normal has not (the semicolons you’ve added). I didn’t quite get it right the first time, which is why you also need jflpdll.zip. You should have something like:
E:\Games\Freelancer>dir exe\jflp.dll Volume in drive E has no label. Volume Serial Number is 8811-F5E0 Directory of E:\Games\Freelancer\exe 06/12/2010 22:18 28,672 jflp.dll ```(That's 6 December, not June 12!) HUD Shift moves the HUD elements back to the edges of the screen. Open it up and remove the semicolon from the second line, so it looks like this:
; Adjustments for 16:9 (1280x720, 1440x810, 1600x900, 1920x1080).
[HUDShift]
Horizontal = 0.17
