The "Big Three"

Thanks for the input folks!
I’l be doing more than a small fix of the infocards: I’m planning to ‘merge’ groups of (friendly) factions, in order to make free ids_name space for more custom factions*. This will only involve the Rep Screen entry; in-space the factions will just show up as they did. I’ve already merged the police forces into the navy factions of their respective houses (gotta straighten out the RepChangeEffects though. They are not conflicting, just not 100$ identical.)
Anyway, that’s how I came on this subject. Btw I won’t be merging the Big Three, as Ageira and DSE are too characteristic to merge into one entity imho. Instead I will merge Universal, Interspace and Orbital. So, the Big Three in my mod will be Ageira, Deep Space, and the UIO group.
I thought of merging the Rheinland criminals (Hessians, Bundschuh, LWB and Unioners) into one group too (as they are all some kind of socialist-like revolutionaries) but I found out their relationships are a bit complicated. So I’d have to make peace between the RH and the Unioners, iirc. Dunno whether this makes the game more boring (actually can’t recall any epic battles between Rheinland criminal factions, so I might just do it anyway)
BTW I wanted to post this earlier, but the public network at my work kinda screws the submission function of the forum: it takes forever before the message arrives (which, in practice, means ‘never’)
- (As most modders will know, a faction does not just need an ids_name, but four additional varieties coming exactly 131834, 131934, 132034 and 132134 places after the primary ids_name. So, there’s only room for 100 proper factions, and you cannot easily just add ids_names at the high end of the DLLs)

There’s nothing stopping you having a single criminal faction throughout all of sirius if you felt the need, just call them pirates innit!
It goes without saying that you have to have the usual suspects, bounty hunters, mercs, pirates, military, cops, aliens…. and don’t forget the farmers, gotta have farmers in spaceships! WTF?

Interspace Commerce seems to be just internal company of Valhalla Research(Ageira) and Monument Engineering(DSE)
Finally just small fix of infocard will solve the problem:
Interspace Commerce (IC) owned by the “Big Three” Liberty companies insures cargo carried within the colonies and into the Border Worlds.
Well, no, because;
capitalize a whole independent entity, Interspace Commerce
Independent, meaning they don’t own it any more, and have little to no input on it’s workings unless they have members on the corporate board, though that would be likely, at least to begin with.
@Moonhead;
Curious idea, merging the factions. Looking forward to seeing how it works out. -

Remember te merger is only in the Rep Screen: e.g. instead of Liberty Navy and Liberty Police, there’s now Liberty Authorities. But in-space you still see them flying around as and [LPI]. Same for the other houses, and the companies mentioned.
Of course there’s some loss in diversity of the vanilla factions, but I wanna add quite a bunch of new factions, so I’m happy with any free ids_name slot. Also, I wanna kinda elaborate on existing factions, most of them are kinda flat. Each faction should be worthwhile to hang around with, but I don’t think many players would consider working for Rep with e.g. the Bundschuh, the Farmer’s Aliance or Synth Foods.

Disagree. In this case Independent means company do all stuff byself but under supervision.

If what you say is true, it means Liberty finances basically every large loan in the entirety of Sirius, which makes little sense.
The other houses tolerate IC’s presence, that wouldn’t happen if it were owned by a Liberty company. There is no way companies like Samura would allow their cargo to be insured by a Liberty company.

Who said this (except you)? Quote even one phrase about it from pdf.
P.S. Where do you see “Samura” my Dear?

Come on guys, what does it matter! All you’re going to do is bounce of the walls for ten posts and end up right back where you started, none the wiser. It makes as much sense as farmers in spaceships.

Just Bobthemanofsteel talking about different thing.
I will not continue discussion moreover Moonhead got his answer -
i was not gonna get involved with this one but here we go.
Interspace Commerce was formed under a joint venture between Agiera and DSE. The idea being that IC would provide financing to any government or group that was/is looking for jumpgates or tradelanes. OR even parts to maintain them.
now IC was founded , in the scheme of things, a long time ago.
Now the impression i get is that since it’s founding IC has grown expontentially and is no longer under the umbrella of ether Agiera or DSE.
Now everyone knows IC was originally founded in Liberty. Now they have ‘Branches’ all over Sirius. Now roots put it as a Liberty Corp. But each branch is independent from the Head Office, but still pays ‘franchise fees’ as it were.
At least this is the way i would look at it. However i am sure both Agiera and DSE still to some extent have their hands still into IC. But basically leave them alone to run themselves

That’s not as uncommon as it seems.
