[Star Citizen News]Chris Roberts announces Announcement Date for new game!
-
If you read the website he is all about being more open with his fans.
-
Actually it was a countdown to a countdown to a much longer countdown. If the slightest thing that you dislike happens and it stops you from playing games, how do you even manage to play ANY? No process is perfect you will always make someone unhappy.
-
I noticed a 24 months dev cycle on golden key card page
-
Yes but we get to be a part of that dev cycle!
-
all i get is a page about a code
-
Just dont type anything in it and use the ? hints appearing after every try.
-
If you donāt get the reference that the ? hint refers to, then you can always I dunno, look at the page source? Or just Google the question it hints you with
-
maybe it has something to do with 6 times 7. dunno why but those two numbers are directly related to each other
-
I am surprised by the muted response O_O Heck, surprised by the what iād call semi hostile response from one!
I want to shout, to scream - HELL YEAH! Seriously, hopping up and down with excitement - which given my age is kind of embarrassing This isnāt just another unknown person making the announcement - itās Chris Roberts. Seriously. AWESOME! So very very happy and excited.
A quick FYI for the person moaning about times/dates/length of time until potential release. Here is a quick copy/paste from another space sim which was announced a long time ago and also got me excitedā¦

Thatās Infinity, Quest for Earth.Knocking on 7 years now and still nothing. 2 years is nothing, a drop in the ocean! Time flies V fast.
I look forward to reading more and more about it, hearing more, discovering more. Getting teasers and bits of information, releases etc. You know, that period of time when you can get excited in anticipation of something! Looking FORWARD to that
Am I the only one thatās REALLY excited here? Guys - get out and spread the word Would love for him to see there is a good number of fans who are interested, enthusiastic, and supportive! Whiners need not apply (would ask the ages of those who are impatient. I think it is bourne of our āmodernā era )

Oh believe me you are not. I think this is the biggest news since the original FL release. And for the next two years, this will also drive people back to our little game here!

No way Chips when I heard this news this morning my jaw literaly dropped! When I signed onto the website after the countdown my colleagues at work were asking why I had such a huge grin on my face!!
Excited is simply an under statement! Hopefully more will catch onto this soon, iāve told the folks over at the old nima forums. Must spread word more!

Iām scared of being excited and then realizing that what I hoped would happen wouldnāt come to pass.
That Roberts is back in is awesome news, but we know so little. Is it going to be a singleplayer only game? Is it going to support mods? Is it going to go to the other extreme and be an MMO? Is it going to be F2P?
Those are all questions that can easily make or break the game, for me. I want a new space sim in the vein of Freelancer very, very badly, but not if I have to live with singleplayer only or with a MMO-ish no-mods game. Freelancerās appeal is a combination of many, many factors, some of which arenāt quite as popular as they used to.

Quite agree FF, the reason Iām still playing Freelancer is because of its mod-ability. As the āgolden ticketā says its owner will be in line for special ships and āfreeā upgrades points to a MMO style. Maybe some sort of totally online Freelancer/Eve hybrid senario, all of which would not be good for modding

I canāt get excited about possible space sims anymore after having been so consistently let down in the past.
This news has broken that trend. I get more and more excited the more I look around the site. We still donāt know what it is. It could be anything at this point, but I donāt really care. This is the most exciting space sim related news Iāve heard in a very long time.

This post has made my day. My friend and I were just speculating on a sequel the other day and now this? Life just keeps getting better around here. Post the article on whatever social media you use and spread the word!

Got my golden ticket, now to sit back and wait and see what he comes up with
