Its ridiculously easy to do it with WINE as well.
Put dsound.dll, dsound8.dll, d3d8.dll and d3d9.dll as resources.

Can you upload yours? But I guess it is more some kind of graphics problem for me…how did you got MP working? I can’t see any server…
-
Oh, right, I forgot that you have to add dplay.dll and dplayx.dll.
-
Can you upload your files?
-
The resources you mean? Sure:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ddohf8imp4v2idc
All these .dll files, including the .acm file should be added to resources list, as native. Winemp3 you might have to force in the list with typing full path instead of the normal way.
I took my previous responses out from my head, while now I did take the trip to WINE to check this. That is my configuration.
You might wanna read on WineHQ about FL, if this doesn’t work that is: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=2504

To where should I extract winemp3 then?
//E: Plus it isn’t a dll? Should I really add it to the DLLs then? -
I haven’t added the last file to the DLLs, but no success. Not for SP nor for MP serverlist…
-
Shouldn’t extract winemp, you put it in /home/USER/.wine/drive_c/Windows/System32 and add it to the resources list in WINE.
-
No change….
Any idea? Would console output help you?
-
Yeah, give me the console output, maybe I can be of further assistance.

That’s from before I used your files, though.
Maybe those topics help you as well:
http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=43994#43994 (quite old actually, but it seems my graphics card/driver is the issue)

You might wanna look at the WineHQ link I gave you earlier; its specifically for FL. The above console output was just a bunch of nonsense where some isn’t fixable by you and most are fixable by adding d3d8.dll and d3d9.dll.

This time I was only idling in the main menu a little.
http://paste.pocoo.org/show/279387/
Also, it seems that the menu does lag more after I used your DLLs.
-
Thats because its creating a compatibility layer and translating the .dlls.
If theres lag I’m not sure if theres anything you can do, as its probably not very WINE related… You could ask at WineHQ.
-
So you don’t have a clue how I can try out SP or get servers at the serverlist?
-
Nothing works? Servers at the servers list should work as long as you add Crazy’s fllistserver in the freelancer.ini file, and added dplay.dll and dplayx to the dll list. As for SP that should work fine if you even manage to get to the main menu.
-
Both doesn’t work. Do you may want to take a look at it via teamviewer?
-
I’ll download TeamViewer right away. PM me the info I need.
-
Well, it complains about dpnet.dll it seems, when its added and when its not after we first added it. The wineboot command didn’t help, so reboot and try starting FL again… I’m not sure I can be of much help, as that is the config I gave you is what I used.
-
Nope, FL quits immedality.
Maybe we two should visit the IRC chatroom of wine later, this weekend or next week (I am driving away with my school class)
