Help - crash

Have installed FL (2 disks, 2 installs - same problem)

but it crashes straight after the intro video, see Freelancer screen but ctd. FL never been on this machine before.

Any suggestions?

OS? If Windows Vista/7, run it as an admin and see if that helps.

3Ghz Pentium 4, 1.5 Gb RAM

Check your video codecs maybe audio codecs , if that don`t work disable startup videos from Freelancer.ini .

That’s odd. Have you tried copying over an installation which you know works?

Codec - up to date if that is what you mean, otherwise not sure what to do.

Disabled vids, get the little Black FL start screen, then the big screen with white Freelancer wording then ctd.

Never been on this machine before so no savegames…

Did fresh install on another machine, won’t play on that either (both disks) but will play if I activate mod (Underverse).

Would still like to get vanilla to play, any ideas?

Think it could be somehow related to the disk? The mod might well have a no-cd hack included so doesn’t require the disk to be read at launch.

I’m not certain, but I think the no-cd hack is related to the exe file? If it is then try switching your vanilla exe file in your freelancer installation with the underverse exe and see if that solves it.

Just to be sure: Check if you have any My Games\Freelancer folder in my documents.

Odd, took out flconfigdatabase and it ran, put it back in and still running?

Hopefully that is it sorted.
