Server Issues
-
Ok here is the deal I am willing to sacrifice the global list for now however when the lan list dose not show my server I tried the fldirectip and still cannot find my own server. Is there any way to set a static ip specifically for the Freelancer server

Ok I have determined that I have network issues that are out of my control for now. So If someone would be so kind as to tell me how I can get the game and the server to run on the same machine I would be very grateful. it seems like the server wont talk to the game or vice versa when they are on the same machine. I am trying to run a LAN server on an XP Platform.

it could be an issue with your router or fire wall
Microsoft Windows firewall
With Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), you do not have to manually create port exceptions in the firewall. You may now create exceptions for the program itself. To do this, follow these steps.
Note Never open a port for a program that you do not recognize.1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2.Click Security Center.
3.Click Windows Firewall.
4.Click the Exceptions tab.
5.Click Add Program.
6.Click Browse.
7. Locate the game’s executable file, and then click Open. By default, the game is installed in one of the following locations:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exeC:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\FLServer.exe
8.Click OK two times.
For additional information about how to use the Windows firewall, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
842242Some programs seem to stop working after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2 If you are not using the Windows firewall, you may still have to know the ports that are used by the game when you configure your network.
Port listing
To make sure that these ports are open or to open these ports, contact your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). If you are the administrator of the network, view the documentation that is provided with your networking software to determine how to open these ports. Freelancer Server requires that the following ports be open to host multiplayer games:
2302-2304 UDP
Freelancer requires that the following ports be open to play a multiplayer game:
2300-2400 UDP also for your server to show up global you need port 80 open -
Don’t know what to tell you.
Works fine for me.
I’m just throwing this out there to see if it sticks, but did you clear your internet history and reboot your PC? Perhaps that might help.R

The list of servers is atm cut in 1/4! As I speak 87 players on 89 servers (before was 275) (u can see below TSP logo-banner).

Is it possible that those are all the servers left?
The reason I ask is that Always Up H1N1 is the 24/7 FREELANCER UNIVERSE testbed server and it’s almost NEVER occupied. It’s just for testing adjustments to the mod. It’s also password protected and only about a half-dozen people have the password. And yet, it’s in that list at #75. It would be odd that a server that has probably less than a couple hundred visits in a year would rank in the top 33%.

On full list of servers it can be seen that most show empty graph. Like the ports are not open. Most active servers list seems to filters those servers.@J.R. - I see ur server is OK now! Did u changed the IP? Or how did u solved this problem?

@J.R. - I see ur server is OK now! Did u changed the IP? Or how did u solved this problem?Nope… didn´t change anything. Still working with the same Dyn-Dns-Hoster. The machine I´m running the server on is more stable and I scripted a nice Progi to check the server is running correctly and restarts it automaticaly when it fails. Even an automatic backup-function is implemented and so I don´t have to spend much time in server management. Had a short conversation with adoxa a while ago and I realized that glsworkaround.dll isn´t needed when u change the settings of freelancer.ini…
And so I did this in the last update to Version 4.41Btw.: Beta-Test-Period will expire on 1st of November at 18:00… FINAL RELEASE in Version 4.44 will be online shortly after… Prolly 5 mins later… Note that all Beta-Players will receive a Bonus-Package then.
Hope to c u hangin´ around sometimes…Greetings J.R.

Really frustrated again, but this time should be no problems and there are.
For more than week, the Draconus Majorum server is unreachable and doesn’t show in game server list.
Its up and running for 4-5 months now, its listed on flserver list under 77.46.212.67:2302 IP that I can ping too.
Using -s shortcut also lists whole servers list without it.What else I can do or just simply can only wait a magic moment to become reachable by itself?
Any suggestions folks?[EDIT] *Ignore it - its reachable again! Turned off server, checked ports with portforward port checker, started up a server and BINGO - it works!
