    Yes this was a heavily truncated example (and I donā€™t think any zone in the mod actually has a sort number of 34)

    Link is bad (404 error). I give up on Lancers.

    But I did find the problem 2-3 weeks ago:-

    The Jumpholes (all of them) have missing sound files!!
    DATA\SOLAR\solararch.iniā€¦

    [Solar]
    nickname = jumpgate
    ā€¦
    open_sound = gate_open_sound
    close_sound = gate_close_sound
    ā€¦

    Copy the ones from the Jumpgate, or record new sounds if you like. I recorded new ones for the jumpholes and my Hyperlane devices, problem solved.

    This post had disappeared and I couldnā€™t find it to update it, thanks for revealing it again! :D.

    Just make an engine with a charge up time of 999999999 or something like that, and it takes so long for cruise to take effect, it wont work :).

    He pretty much hit the nail on the head here. I used this technique on my not-very-mobile Storage Depots for players, and it works like a charm.

    @Worfeh:

    Add a NPC wingman hostile with a CD next to it ??? ;D

    Iā€™ve had this happen with wingmen turning hostile before; itā€™s rather amusing, especially since youā€™re technically their formation leader and they will thus follow you across an entire system pumping CDs into you. =P

    I donā€™t see what else could make such a strong correlation while also being relatively logical. The multithreading was the largest change by far, and if the .NET threading implementation wasnā€™t built with lots of threads on a single core in mind, it might clog up the processorā€¦

    Hmmmm, my method is different to this, i added those entries not in the shiparch.ini but into the rtc_shiparch.ini and it works fine šŸ˜„

    Nah, I always run error checkers and always make sure they are clean. This is what is puzzling me. First time I actually flew into that system actually, and noticed the crash. Damn encounter-problems (I think :P)ā€¦ so elusiveā€¦ iā€™ve review it later I guess by handā€¦

    they dont have much of an effect, as itā€™s all to do with mass and the amount of force needed to send a weapon/engine flying through space.

    Iā€™m not sure youā€™ll ever really get a defend-the-base type of thing going, because itā€™s not the functionaility freelancer has. When you stick random mission/destroy mission vignettes in, and set the corresponding bases & NPCs up, you are relying on the fact that the game knows about those, and you are simply adding them to new areas, with different factions etc. Freelancer doesnā€™t have any other mission types coded, aside from the base destruct, eliminate-the-target (pilot & commodity variants) and the ship wave ones. Anyone?

    Well, I wanted to replace missile and mine explosions with fuses that deal damage. Explosions do the same damage within the radius, while in fuses damage depends on the distance from the centre of the impulse.

    [impulse]
    at_t = 1.000000
    hardpoint = HpMount
    pos_offset = 23, 13, 65
    radius = 150
    force = 150
    damage = 150

    In this case if a ship 149 meters from the centre of the [impulse], it will get 1 damage only.
    This would be interesting to implement.

    BtW, Forsaken, donā€™t you want to use planetary beacon concept in shattered worlds instead of solar plants aka dock rings?
