    Your Board acted on the sound, but there is another problem which is that the sound is not clean and after a long shot, then ceasing shooting the sounds of bullets even if you do not shoot.

    yes you will need a big enough ship to play those missions I used to play that mod and on the higher level missions would not matter what you are driving . the pirate always came up with something bigger.

    For some reason best known to my laptop, no matter what i tried to get FLServer to display my ip for my server, it didn’t work, as all it did was display my IPv6 address even though it was disabled. The above solution maybe a Vista solution, but also works on W7 64bit and now i can finally connect, great job!

    dsam is trying to get the gamedata files of ISO for the modded (and/or vanilla) parts of the installation. It is grabbing the player files from the default directory afaik - my advice would be a complete new installation of freelancer, ioncross (without the need to use it, just to register the path) and dsam (additional probably dspm). All that should be done under the same user with admin privileges enabled. This way the server (modded or unmodded) should run without a problem. If additional problems occure you may try to run the flserver with one core only or build a proper compatibility setting. Our Server is running on WS 2008 rc2 in 64 bit mode as a windows service this way - it should be equal to a win7 64 inst. imO. Best is (thanks to the developers of dsam and dspm) after starting a user the programs access the running services instead of building a new instance.

    Yes it’s true, I was inexpert at messing with encounter zones back then and our modding team was drying up so I didn’t have the play-test team I would have liked (to say the least). I’m working with Thunder and his gang to try and achieve some extra stability for their server though.

    Yes, unfortunately I was able to discover that my problems related to me being and idiot.

    As I was looking around as an Admin before really opening the server up I’d revealed the full map for my character. This then obviously counts the character having visited the wrecks even though it’s brand new.

    Thought I’d best follow up in case someone else can learn from my hours of wasted thought.

    i had been running discovery 4.8.5 plus update 3 sucsessfully for about 2 weeks. my players were having problems as the minable ores were selling for the same as the standard comodities. so i had made a modified goods.ini to increase their price to the listings on the wiki. i had aquired all the original mod files from the main discovery mod site (http://discoveryfl.com/downloads/). it was the process of the unmounting the old mod in flmm that failed and caused me to have to reinstall at first that led to all of this.

    an update to the situation, and one of the wierdest things i have ever seen in the world of computers.

    the OP was the last thing i did before going to bed that night. that atempt to host the server that had been at 13 minuites made it to 7:20 before crashing. when i woke up in the morning (8hours later) i restarted it agian and confirmed that my players still could not see the server. aprox 6 hours after that i had players reporting they could see the server but could not log in as they still had 4.85 loaded and the server was still 1.1. got home another 6 hours later instaled and tested each item one piece at a time with no problems and the server is now running with no propblems with 6 connections as i type.

    the only adverse affects from the situation:
    my main player account was deleted.
    another player lost 4.5 million credits.
    and somthing about the new minecontrol flhook plugin is preventing rocks from dropping anything.

    i have never seen a computer problem that fixed itself through failure before. a most bizare expierience

    Just put the *.fmpa into the shizzolancer directory, run shizzolancer and you can choose the account.

    For not creating a misunderstanding: shizzolancer is a german windows tool - you can also extract the ID and put it in every other account switching tool by open the *.fmpa file with a text editor using the above format. If you have a tool which is running with tiny Tux you may migrate it easily.

    The MP ID is stored in the Registry of Windows - if wine supports registry functions you may also overwrite it by a script or directly.

    In your game’s root folder (by default in Program Files, Microsoft Games, Freelancer), execute msxml3.msi as administrator, install it, then reboot.
