    So, i have used MAYA to split the modelin more than 2200 groups…
    Now i’m deleting internal parts, and making the model in few groups ( like wings, hull, engine, thrusters, cockpit etc…)
    But “regrouping” the 2200+ groups in only few ones can take me some times^^
    But, by th way, the model will be cleaner, and with less poly and triangles/surfaces…
    I will post here my final model, then if someone can make it lighter, can i thin k i cant down it below 15-20 000 polycount…

    There is almost any 3D model that can be added into freelancer (no matter poly cont).
    So you can add it on the game yourself - search how to extract the 3D model from there .

    Just a quick mention:

    In times past we have run into similar issues that were due to corruption and required a re-install but found that instead of a re-install or instead of a backup restore, simply delete the Freelancer folder and then reinstall fresh. Sometimes you get a better “clean job” then a reinstall.

    However, I tend to lean towards the permissions issue as to why he is having problems.

    Have you deleted or renamed your “…\Freelancer\Accts” saved game folders? You must do this if you had an older installation of FL.

    In mods with increased cruise speed, beating Hovis is easy if you do NOT use cruise speed. The reason for this is that Hovis will miss gates because he is traveling too fast.

    Just use afterburners (I slide through the entire course to keep up both speed and afterburner energy).

    I have not played the Starfyre mod, but the post says that Hovis is crippled in this mod, so you may have to wait for him to catch up to you at the end of the course. You must return to the Hood with Hovis in order to dock.

    I’ve seen my error, when i reimported the new TGA/DDS, in the right column, it’s not DXT1 9 levels, but a sort of ARRAY that is imported 😕 i will make screenshot later, i need to left work and go to home…

    That’s weird. I just unzipped the frontier space mod, dropped the mod folder into the FLMM/mods folder. Started up flexplorer and chose frontier space when asked if i want to open an existing mod. Bingo, all system files decrypted. Haven’t even got bini and I’ve never used it, started modding well after there was any need of that tool. You can tell the mod was made with flexplorer, and I can’t imagine why he would have gone to the hastle of using bini to put all those files back into the old format.

    At least you’ve sorted it now, that’s the main thing.

    I can’t think of any disadvantages m8. There’s a couple of mods out there that have them in game with no issues. As for the effect, I guess that would be either a matter of (your) personal taste, or whatever you think the players on your server would like best. Although the more people, the more opinions. Personally, I would go with something that looked like a pulsating beam. But like I said, that’s personal. 😉

    Thanks guys, your replies finally sorted something that kept me busy for quite a long time lol. And as often, it’s something very simple - don’t use RLE compression…

    @Gisteron: I’m guessing that your graphical program took the original image settings when you imported it, and saved it the same way.

    @Chips: thanks m8, that topic was very helpful as well in regards to the fact that not even all images are really needed for the game.

    I was working on some Rheinland weapons at the time and just used their part names, base/turret/barrel, but you can name the parts anything you want afaik, I change the .3db parts and the .vms files to individual names using utf-xml, stops any duplicate crc issues

    MAX_EXHAUST_NOZZLES does not seem to be used (common exports it, but does not use it; nothing else imports it).
