I have my doubts that the way how it works is different in SP. There is no reason why the death fuse would work differently.
The only difference I see is that the SP environment is not persistent and that you reset it by loading a savegame in order to respawn.

As a newcomer in 2020, trying to sort out connecting to the multiplayer server list has been a little puzzling. I’ve done some experimenting and I finally ended up with this:

1. Grab this zip: http://www.freelancerserver.de/download/flgls_workaround_v10.zip
2. Extract the files. Copy gls_workaround.dll and libcurl.dll into your Freelancer\EXE directory.
3. Open dacom.ini in a text editor and add gls_workaround.dll to the bottom of the [Libraries] section.

That’s it.

NOTE:

The zip contains a dacom.ini that includes libcurl.dll in the [Libraries] section. This does not appear to be necessary. I’m not certain what the gls_workaround.ini file is for, but it also does not appear to be needed. Maybe someone can clarify this?

Observations:

1. After only updating the [ListServer] section in freelancer.ini to point at gun.fllistserver.com, I only saw about half of the available servers. After starting the game, I noticed if you only see global servers the INTERNET multiplayer selection and none in the LAN, then the global override DLL is not enabled.

2. As stated above, gls_workaround.dll needs to be added to the [Libraries] section in dacom.ini, BUT you also need libcurl.dll present along with gls_workaround.dll in your Freelancer\EXE as well (it’s not installed with vanilla). I mention this because there are .zip packages out there with the gls_workaround.dll but not the libcurl.dll. Again, without libcurl.cll THIS WILL SILENTLY FAIL.

3. As of this date, Dec 05 2020, the old DLLs from 2007 still continue to work (supplied in the link I posted above). It does not seem like any other patched DLLs are needed.

I’m assuming raising the value on docking speeds from 18f to something higher will increase the docking speed?

It did, i actually set it to 50 which is the same as the exit speed, works like a charm. Thanks again adoxa.

I’ve been getting random crashes in these systems, may or may not be related to this which is why i’m on an encounter witch hunt atm. I suppose the argument is if the encounter is declared then it should work, i’m just fuzzy on area encounters working in a tradelane, not logical

Typically with Freelancer the things either had a use that was removed or were going to be used, but never made it in. Either way, sounds like it’s safe to ignore/remove outright.

I should know better. I’ve been using territory for ages in my mod, never realised i could add sector names to the navmap. That will teach me to skim the readme. Tested and works. Thanks adoxa, you rule 🙂

Sorted it in the end. Got fed up trying to configure a prehistoric router and bought a new one. Problem solved. The exe hack Adoxa suggested works nicely as well so thumbs up for that, also means i don’t have to mess around doing the regedit hack as well. Appreciate the assistance Adoxa.

That’s the info i was after, thx. There’s a lot of work there if i do this, as i’d need to make a load of custom sound files. I’ll see how i feel about this after i’ve done some more coding lol

dsam is trying to get the gamedata files of ISO for the modded (and/or vanilla) parts of the installation. It is grabbing the player files from the default directory afaik - my advice would be a complete new installation of freelancer, ioncross (without the need to use it, just to register the path) and dsam (additional probably dspm). All that should be done under the same user with admin privileges enabled. This way the server (modded or unmodded) should run without a problem. If additional problems occure you may try to run the flserver with one core only or build a proper compatibility setting. Our Server is running on WS 2008 rc2 in 64 bit mode as a windows service this way - it should be equal to a win7 64 inst. imO. Best is (thanks to the developers of dsam and dspm) after starting a user the programs access the running services instead of building a new instance.

The glowing eyes are special effects. I think its not possible to attach them to the character without any THN script.

His mouth is maybe fixed because a Nomad is coming out of it, so they changed it.
