People are fine with helping you, but not so much with just giving stuff away like that. Especially THNs, which just about all mods would like to have and nearly none can actually have.

My tool edits existing missions, theres no empty mission template (its really easy to make one out of m01.init or m02.ini and the next version will have the template built in).

And DVDMan, not building on the work of others is irrational and self defeating. You can get a lot more done by using existing knowledge and expanding upon that than by doing everything yourself. Of course you could be the kind of person who codes in assembly to avoid using the work of others (APIs, Operating Systems) to make their life easier.

I think there was some mod which added a feature of launching to planetscapes from inside the base. I think that mod was Rise of the Lost Children, but I never actually got to use this feature, only screenshots and vids.

I hate the pre-installation options, thats why I look for something better to replace it.
I agree, it is too much to make different HUD for every ship series, but it would be nice to have an option of changing the HUD without reinstalling the mod, which in this case takes a lot of time.

It seems like just another pop-up idea, but actually I plan to execute it if I find out how.

FLSpew.txt is a horrible file!! You will want to use FLSpit.vbs, which renders an easier-to-read copy of the FLSpew.txt, named FLSpit.txt file. I assume this tool can be found in the download section. If not, I can send ya a copy.

Btw it is indeed necessary to look into this file when you’re tracking errors, but you will also find errors you weren’t ware of. Some of them important, others much less so.

In times where a lot of communities (such as facebook and other major social networks) don’t lay much interest on privacy - i think its at least good to know that there is something like this still valid. Everyone has its own right to have his private stuff protected. And if someone don’t want to be mentioned for any reason then its not allowed to mention him (generally).

Asking for permission has nothing to do with privacy in my eyes - that would fall under the term copyright. Both are two different things.
Mostly - nowadays - people might be happy to see their stuff used. But in any case the author don’t want that you use his stuff you have to remove it. But that may differ between the countries and their laws.

You could add a phrase that you are sorry if you have forgotten someone to mention in your credits and you are open to receive the names of the author by PM, mail whatever 😉
