After spending many lurking and occasionally posting, I honestly need to say something.
Almost all of you, are pathetic, even me to an extent
I spent time with so many other modding communities, but coming back to Freelancer just makes me cringe.
Every last thing is always bicker bicker bicker, argue, this community sucks, this mod does this, this mod does that, they all suck, etc.
I’ve seen games that were in much worse situations than Freelancer that ended up better simply because of a united community.
Look at Half-Life, look at Morrowind, look at Oblivion, all games that have been able to keep strong because of amazing modding communities.
And look at us. The majority of people who actually know about Freelancer think the modding community is awful.
I’ve finally been able to accept that Microsoft will NEVER, EVER release Freelancer 2, the source code, just deal with it.
WE however, have a chance to create a Freelancer 2, all our modders might argue, and many are immature, but god damn, they have talent, and talent could finally make that dream mod we all look for, and it wouldn’t take just one person, but all of us.
Right now, I’m with OP, that chance is so low it might as well be impossible.
But they said that things like Morrowind and Oblivion going online was impossible, and that happened, thanks to the community.
So for those who can’t read that much text, and want a shortened version. Here:
If you don’t stop being immature, and work together, Freelancer will die. Painfully.
And I doubt you’ll ever stop arguing about who’s mod is best to actually do that.
