    Gisteron, I fail to see the point. It would be much better to have the source.

    What you’re saying is that it’s better to fix the car with duct tape and chewing gum than to properly repair it like a mechanic. It makes no sense.

    If you were attempting to piece the game together like some others do, you’d much prefer having the source for the flexibility and ease of use that would give you.

    not sure, too. yes, its about just the playing fun to most of them, they don’t want anything bad… otherwise, where is your reputation on the modding branch, if noone necessary has to join your server to play your mod in multiplayer…

    You could use the C# code from DAM to parse the names, etc. It’s all done for you and loaded into a DataSet ready to display. The parser also is pretty much guaranteed to work with discovery because I wrote it for it. You can find the DAM source code on the starport-forge project page.

    @Xarian: Is editing freelancer.ini really that different to editing dacom.ini? BTW, the call sign can be changed on the fly - just load a game for it to take effect. Yeah, I guess I could add a “callsign” command to Console, but as yet, it has no initialisation, so the plugin would remain, anyway. Hm, if I add it to Hack, I could have drop-down lists to select everything… That’d also counter problems some may have with mods that don’t use freelancer.ini.

    @Bas: Thought about doing that, but it’s slightly more complicated. Still, if there’s an interest…? I only did brief MP testing, so it really does work fine in MP, then?

    We at FFS use an approach with FLHook, which is not suitable to a clan site, because it requires access to the FLHook console, wich only the server admins should have

    I went an d checked out the threads on flak. I also downloaded the two utilities and thought I might give them a whirl. Now I just need to pull out that old FlightStick from storage and do some experiments.

    Remember to ALWAYS take in account the reputation change, for example if your friend has been rewarded with a full green/neutral rep, it wouldn’t be nice if you messed up his rep, not would it?

    If you are going to change a reputation quickly just had for a bribe at a bar. But they are very expensive at the very beginning of the game.

    Also, missions allow to change your reputaion more quickly.

    I remember someone did the Command Carrier or whatever it was called (the large doughnut shaped one), years ago. Probably in one of the Re-Balance mods.

    But sorry, dont know anybody who made the Bioships. Pity really cuz they were quite good

    however - yes votes have different values
    to be exact there are 2 values

    user votes guest votes
    only user votes count, guest votes are only taken when 2 mods have the same amount of user votes

    the time being member of moddb does not matter

    I am not sure if i can submit a mod article. I made the mistake to release the next version of my mod (after 2 years working on it) right in the middle of the mod awards and fixing the last problems on the server have priority now. I have asked someone from my community to write such an article. That one will be submitted.

    2nd priority is the moddb site as its getting up to 1500 visits per day and the swat sites also receive 4000-6000 visits per day while TSP is not very player orientated.

    I made a small change so it would log both PvP and PvE kills without giving an error. Also, the system had to be changed to the victim’s instead of the killer’s.

    Wouldn’t it be cool to have the complete package here? I could be wrong…… BUT, I get the same package from The Forge. Corrupt ZIP File…CRC error extracting CAB files

    I did find the full package. It is a 37MB SETUP.EXE

    Allow me to upload it for all to download that have my problem
