    I’ve made another change (that I won’t bother uploading), which is to make both missiles show as available in the equipment list. Unexpectedly, it also made both available in the inventory, as well. (By available, I mean it shows as cyan rather than grey.) I’m thinking I could detect if you’re in space and don’t show it available there, so you can see which missile is active, but I hope to allow two launcher names (something like “Javelin (regular)” and “Javelin (EMP)”), so it wouldn’t really be necessary. Another thing I forgot to consider was weapon groups. I guess depending on the key you use, it’ll either toggle the ammo or the weapon.

    None taken. I fully agree you can do more with a fully customised starscape. All i’m saying is that with the utility, you can do a lot more than some might think, it’s not just little white dots in the background 😉

    Sourced almost everyone i could like the osiris one, also using the Multiintro with a few vanilla planetscape THN’s…
    hell yeah… now that makes total sence… as all my FX have valid data blocks… i was worried it may have been the flash params on the wep beams, but the THN’s… yes some of them are quite old… might do me well to crack em open and have a looksee…

    So you tried importing the vanilla textures in, over your new ones to rule that out? (easier than hex editing the mesh itself)
    Easiest way to check if it’s texture + transparency related is to just make backups of each mat, then import your new textures over the old ones within each tex leaf. Yes, call me Cpt. Obvious.

    Had a similar issue while figuring how to export transparent textures. If I recall, the order entries are listed in type also is rather inflexible; ie one type comes before another or it won’t work. Though if you leave out the Ot, the overall Oc should still be properly affected, just applied to the whole material area, rather than masked. So leaving off Ot shouldn’t cause the whole thing to just disappear entirely.

    If ya changed the nomad_fx.txm, always possible that’s where its biffed too. Nomad mats are a pain, but look pretty darn cool. Make for some mighty interesting stuff, had one for my hive scout looking like polished obsidian / smoked glass.

    Try messing with different Bt textures & modes, and or Nt textures & modes after ya get this up and working. Think they use 64, 72, or 80. 80 is rather funky.

    So true Legion… and some of us put strange things in our .ini … modded things…
    that are sure to cause you grief if not explained properly lolz…

    For instance… I (and a few others) use the Hpxx Hardpoints for addons… mixed with
    the hp_fighter_shield_generator & hp_elite_shield_generator params…

    I learned this from reference… and they wont work if no HPxx are on the .cmp

    Hardest thing i’ve found when it comes to ships is the mass x Flight/turn/roll params… everything else is
    pretty much self explanatory really… and easy once youve done(and understood) a few ships

    A big hint b4 i run off… If you are making BS flyable… be shure to make them
    ship_class = 2
    type = FREIGHTER

    as this will stop you rolling around like a snowman in summer 😛

    Man, I’d LOVE to help you guys out making Star Wars specific planets. I’ve just no time.

    Once I do manage to get back on this project, you’re more than welcome to implement what I create. I’ve done several planets already, take a peek at them, if you can use them… lemme know which ones you want.

    I don’t remember if it was just an idea or something that was actually implemented into a mod…

    Anyways it was something about adding the animation to thrusters on a X-Wing so when you hit thrust the wings would fold out! I think something similar was suggested/used on engines too…

    Maybe you could use this if it’s possible!? The wings on your ship could then turn and point backwards!?

    A long while ago WTS got permission to use other Firebase ships
    not included in the shippack.

    The reply was - if i remember correct - something like
    “Go ahead - but keep a LF a LF and don’t change it to something absurd”.

    I doubt, they would mind a fix or a change of color.

    Thanks for the answers. The problem was quite simple: The model just wasn’t big enough. I resized it with FLModelTool and suddenly it works, hehe.
